Former Olympic star dead at 29 following car crash in Texas: report

Died in suspicious car accident, Jan 10, 2022, "According to reports, Lendore was driving to Milam County, which is between Austin and College Station, and his vehicle crossed the center line and "sideswiped a vehicle" that was traveling in the opposite direction. Lendore's vehicle reportedly drifted to the center line and crashed into another car head-on."

And from the Texas A&M paper we learn he was driving home from practice:
"Deon Lendore, the 2014 Bowerman winner, NCAA Champion and current Texas A&M track & field volunteer assistant coach, passed away in an automobile accident returning home from practice Monday."

I have found no mention of alcohol or drugs. Distracted driving like texting is a possibility, but the Fox News report makes it sound like 2 collisions were involved: a sideswipe followed by a head-on collision. It also sounds like after the sideswipe his car drifted back to the center line before the head-on. That sounds to me like he was completely unconscious the whole time.
